Bomb blast creates panic at DU hall
A crude bomb exploded at the Surya Sen Hall of Dhaka University (DU) at around 8:30pm yesterday, creating panic among the resident students.
Sources at the hall said with a massive sound a crude bomb exploded in the flower garden, in between TV room and 'center block' of the hall that created panic among the students of the hall for a while.
Meanwhile, the hall authorities have filed a general dairy with Shahbagh Police Station in this connection.
However, it could not be identified who were involved behind the explosion.
Earlier, on Saturday two crude bombs exploded in front of the hall, leaving a student seriously injured.
At least seven crude bombs exploded on the Dhaka University (DU) campus in the last one and half months.
Talking to The Daily Star, DU Proctor Prof AK Feroz said they have decided to deploy additional police at five points on the university campus to avoid untoward incidents.
