Police citizen charter published
Bangladesh Police on Monday have published a citizen charter to reach and ensure its services to the people.
The charter gave details covering a total of 21 areas that include services provided by police, time of services, and complaint against police and its settlement.
Important services include providing all out cooperation by the duty officers to the people. Officer-in-charge of a police station will register written or verbal complaint as a First Information Report (FIR) from people who will go to police station to lodge a case.
Besides, people can lodge complaint to senior police officers against officer-in-charge or duty officer of a police station if they show reluctance in registering a case.
All inquiries relating to passport, verification and firearms' license must be completed by the police station within three days and the report submitted to the concerned unit, according to the citizen charter.
Complaints can be filed against concerned member of police if one does not get legal assistance from a police station, it said.
