Two submit wealth statements to ACC
An establishment ministry joint secretary and a former superviser of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Co. Ltd. submitted their wealth statements to the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC).
Israfil Alam, former superviser of Titas Gas, submitted his wealth statement yesterday while the joint secretary Rafiqul E Mohamed, officer on special duty (OSD), submitted his one on April 8.
Rafiqul in his statement said he owns 320 decimals of land at Sreepur in Gazipur and 12.37 decimals in Dhaka Cantonment area. He also said he owns savings certificate worth Tk 25 lakh, five accounts worth Tk 6,56,785 in banks, and Tk 10 lakh in ICB in his own name.
Rafiqul said there are family savings accounts worth Tk 50 lakh while he and his wife jointly have Tk 9.5 lakh in ICB bank.
Though he mentioned having insurance in Alico but did not show any account of the insurance.
Meanwhile, Israfil in his statement showed that he owns immovable and movable property worth Tk 12.47 lakh and 14.31 lakh respectively. Israfil also mentioned in the statement that he has loan of Tk 20,31,327.
Israfil is among the 68 former and present employees of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Co. Ltd. whom a taskforce of the National Coordination Committee to Combat Corruption and Serious Crimes listed as graft suspects.
The documents of ill-gotten gains of the 53 employees, out of 68, were sent to the ACC on February 24, as they did not confess to corruption.
