World AIDS Day today

World AIDS Day will be observed in the country today as elsewhere in the world.
The day is an opportunity for public and private partners to spread awareness about the status of the pandemic and encourage progress in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care in high prevalence countries and around the world.
President Zillur Rahman, in a message, emphasised the concerted efforts of all to save the people in risk and unaffected children, women and youths from the deadly disease.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in her message, said the government is committed to bringing the outbreak of HIV infection to zero in the country.
