Thousands in five districts celebrate Eid-ul-Azha today
Over 50,000 people will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in Barisal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barguna and Madaripur districts today in conformity with the practice followed in Saudi Arabia.
Our Barisal correspondent reported that more than 30,000 followers of Kaderia, Jahangiria and Chistia tarikas will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in Barisal, Bhola and Barguna districts today.
They are the followers of Pir of Elahabad Sufia Darbar Sharif and Pir Shaheb of Mariachi Darbar Sharif of Satkania in Chittagong.
They all hail from Harinafulia, Karanpur and Kashipur villages under Sadar upazila, Madhavpasha, Kedarpur, Tajkati, Talukdar Char, Nishan Baria, Haji Banshkati villages in Babuganj upazila, Sundarkati in Bakerganj upazila, of Barisal, Charfashion upazila of Bhola, and Taltali of Barguna districts.
In Patuakhali, at least 15,000 people of 25 villages under Patuakhali district will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha today. They all are the followers of Kaderia tarika and join Eid congregations in different areas of Patuakhali Sadar, Baufal, Galachipa and Kalapara upazilas, according to our correspondent.
The villages are Badarpur under Sadar upazila, South Devpur, Patua, Nishanbaria, Morichbunia, Safakhali, Ajimuddin, Tegachia, Chinkhola, Badurtali and Naiya Patty under Kalapara upazila, Dakua, Fultali, Chotobaishdia, Rangabali and Katakhali under Galachipa upazila, Kanakdia, Indrokul, Shaplakhali,Modonpura, Dhaurabhanga, Boga, Dipasha, Narayanpasha and Taterkatha under Baufal upazila.
Badarpur Darbar Sharif sources said Eid congregation will be held on the darbar sharif premises at 8:00am today.
Our Madaripur correspondent Adds: Around 15,000 followers of Sureshwar Darbar Sharif will also celebrate Eid-ul-Azha today in conformity with the practice followed in Saudi Arabia.
