11 Shibir activists held

Police in separate drives arrested 11 activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir for pasting posters in Sonadanga and Khalishpur areas in the city early yesterday.
Police arrested seven Shibir activists from Sonadanga area at about 3:00 am when they were pasting posters on the walls, demanding release of Jamaat leaders arrested on charge of war crimes.
The arrestees men were identified as Saif Al Momin, Masudur Rahman, Delwar Hossain, Ahmed Ali, Mushfiq, Aslam and Sahadat -- students of Khulan BL College and City College.
Officer in-charge of Sonadanga police station SM Qamruzzam said police detained the activists so that they could not carry out any sabotage.
Meanwhile, police arrested four Shibir activists from Khalishpur area on the same charge.
The arrestees are-Abdur Rahman, Saif Sheikh, Ashraful Islam and Sabbir Ahmed-students of Khulna Mohsin College.
