Art camp marking Tagore birth anniversary
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) will organise a three-day art camp in four places, as part of Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary celebration. The camp will begin on September 21, and will continue till September 23.
To inform the media on this project, a press conference was held at the Seminar Room of National Theatre Hall, BSA on September 18. Liakat Ali Lucky, director general of BSA; Manjur Rahman, secretary, BSA; Sara Ara Mahmud, director of the Film and Theatre Department of BSA and Anwar Hossain, director of Fine Arts Department of the academy, spoke on the occasion. Liakat Ali Lucky presided over the press conference.
Leading artists of the country will take part at the camp, which will be held at Shahjadpur in Sirajganj; Shilaidaha in Kushtia; Patisar in Naogaon and Dakkhindihi in Khulna. The camps will be held as part of Tagore's 150th birth anniversary celebration programme.
Forty senior and promising painters including Quayyum Chowdhury, Rafiqun Nabi, Hashem Khan, Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Abu Taher, Abdus Shakoor Shah, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Farida Zaman, Alokesh Ghosh, Mohammad Eunus, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Afzal Hossain, Maksuda Iqbal Nipa and Ashraful Alam Paplu will participate at the camp.
