National Theatre Repertory staged its play “Rudro Robi O Jallianwala Bagh†at the National Theatre Hall, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, on September 15. Written by Manzur-e-Mawla, the play has been directed by Ataur Rahman. The play is a narrative of Rabindranath's protest against the British rulers. After hearing of the Jalianwala Bagh massacre in 1919, Tagore called for a meeting in Kolkata and subsequently, as a sign of protest, renounced the knighthood conferred on him by the British Raj.
