Ancelotti staying at Milan
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani insisted Saturday that coach Carlo Ancelotti was guaranteed his job with the European champions next season despite reports linking Marcello Lippi with the post.
"Milan, and I say it also in the name of president (Silvio) Berlusconi, will definitely have Carlo Ancelotti sitting on the bench in the 2008/09 season whether they reach the Champions League or not," Galliani told the club's website.
"Even if we don't make it (to the Champions League) -- and I don't think that will happen -- we shall humbly continue our path in the UEFA Cup and Ancelotti will be there with us."
Ancelotti took over as coach in 2001-2002, and has since won two Champions League titles, the Serie A and World Club Championship.
Still in the race for the Champions League, AC Milan are fifth in the league, three points from the final qualifying spot for next year's Champions League.
