125 policemen leave for Congo to join UN mission
A 125-member contingent of Bangladesh police left here for Congo on Friday night to join the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Monuc.
The team, led by Police Super Meer Shahidul Islam, left Zia International Airport by a UN chartered flight.
The contingent will replace the member of BANFPU-2 in Congo.
Assistant Inspector General of Police (UN Desk) M Ekramul Habib and other senior officials were present at the airport to see them off, says a Police Headquarters' press release.
