Rab destroys narcotics

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7) destroyed different kinds of drugs worth about Tk 73.20 lakh at its headquarters in Patenga of Chittagong city yesterday.
The destroyed items included 156.8 grammes of marijuana, 3,702 cans of beer, 2,792 bottles of foreign liquor, 1,443 bottles of Phensedyl, 250 pieces of Yaba tablets, 19 grammes of heroin, 3,6000 Sedil tablets and 330 porn CDs.
The drug items were seized by Rab-7 in different drives conducted in last three months, Rab sources said.
Meanwhile, acting on a tip-off, Rab-7 seized 100 bottles of phensedyl worth about Tk 40,000 from the toilet of a compartment in Bahadurabad Mail Train, which came at Chittagong Railway Station from Jamalpur.
