The 12th International Short and Independent Film Festival will begin from December 13 at five venues in the city. Bangladesh Short Film Forum (BSFF) organised a press conference on June 21 at the café of Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts, Dhanmondi in this regard.
Hasnat Abdul Hye, festival chairman; Manzare Hasin Murad and Nasiruddin Yousuff, festival vice-chairman; Rashed Chowdhury, its director; Morshedul Islam, its forum president and filmmaker AKM Zakaria, among others, attended the press conference.
This year, the organiser expects to screen approximately 200 films from across 40 countries in five venues including Shawkat Osman Auditorium of Central Public Library, Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Goethe-Institut, Bangladesh National Museum and Chhayanaut Sangskriti Bhaban Auditorium.
Since its inception in 1986, BSFF has been arranging the festival regularly as a biennial event in an attempt to introduce film-buffs to the world cinema.
