Muktijoddha coach given 1-match ban
Muktijoddha Sangsad coach Shafiqul Islam Manik will not be guiding his charges in their crucial league match against Team BJMC today as the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) disciplinary committee yesterday imposed a one-match ban on him following his unsporting behaviour with the assistant referee during their match against Mohammedan SC on May 29.
Muktijoddha Sangsad are placed second with 37 points from 17 outings, three points behind leaders Abahani who have 40 points from 17 matches.
For the same reason, Muktijoddha Sangsad security officer Zahir Uddin Jalal was also served a two-match ban from entering any venues where Bangladesh Premier League matches will be staged.
Apart from Muktijoddha, Feni Soccer Club were fined Tk 20,000 after their supporters hurled chairs onto the playing area after the completion of the match between Feni Soccer and Team BJMC at the Feni Stadium, while Feni's official Nizamuddin was suspended for an uncertain period for verbally abusing the assistant referee.
Belal Ahmed, an official of Team BJMC, was suspended for five matches for entering the BJMC dugout without proper permission during their match against Abahani at the Tangail Stadium on May 30 while Farashganj SC were warned for their six-minute 'refrain from play' against Team BJMC.
