Faujdarhat Cadet College top in Ctg

Hundreds of students and their guardians flocked to the schools in Chittagong city and burst out in joy after the results of the SSC examination were out yesterday afternoon.
Faujdarhat Cadet College topped the list of the best 20 schools under Chittagong Education Board, for the second consecutive year, followed by Chittagong Collegiate School and Government Muslim High School.
As many as 939 schools took part in the examination from Chittagong board and 78.96 percent students passed (0.69 percent higher than the last year) with 5,121 getting GPA-5.
For the success, Lt Col Humayun Kabir, principal of Faujdarhat Cadet College, credited the discipline and monitoring system of the institution.
Government Muslim High School ranked third with an impressive improvement from the seventh position last year. Moreover, 310 students got GPA-5, highest among the top 20 institutions under the board.
Imtiaz Ahmed, a student of the school, praised his teachers and parents for his success. With a broad grin, he said, “Finally my hardship of ten long years has become fruitful.”
S M Ziaul Haider Henry, headmaster of the institution, was proud of the results. “This achievement is the outcome of joint efforts by students, guardians and teachers. We took different initiatives beforehand that helped us touch this grand success with around 99.8 percent pass rate,” he said.
Chittagong Collegiate School students turned cheerful on its premises the moment after Mohammad Azizuddin, headmaster of the school, declared the results.
