Cubs, now young tigers
The Asia Cup has been a fantastic success, no less for the emergence of the young Tigers as a force to be reckoned with. What a phenomenal performance beating the present World Cup finalists and nearly causing an upset twice with the semi-finalist, in the league game and then in that pulsating final. With their heads held high, the Tigers must have learnt one lesson you cannot play 8 maidens in a 50 over game.
Enter the Dragon: The (morally) Bankrupt Cry Babies (BCB) have started whining and lodged a frivolous protest after sleeping on it for three days. Do they realise that this is a two-edged sword? If the ACC rejects the appeal, we earn the title of “Poor Losers”, but if God forbid we get the charity of 5 runs and are crowned “Asian Champions”, then the BCB can start recruiting their Dui Number Chamchas, because it is doubtful if the present team will ever appear on a cricket field and risk their self-respect as bogus “Asian Champions”.
Finally, in spite of their steely determination, the Tigers could not overcome the negative influence of our 3 Biggest Losers watching in air-conditioned comfort from the VVIP boxes.
