On the occasion of the country's Independence Day, Chittagong Club honoured 30 freedom fighters at a function in the port city.
The day-long function on Monday also included a fair, cultural programme and blood donation programme.
The freedom fighters were Late Ataur Rahman Khan Kaiser (posthumously), Late Mirza Mohammed Babor (posthumously), Akteruzzaman Chowdhury Babu MP, Engr Mosarraf Hossain MP, Mirza Abu Monsur, ABM Nizamul Haque, S M Fazlul Haque, Anwarul Silam Khan Sowgat, Iqbal Hossain, Moslemuddin Ahmed, Syed Didarul Alam, Mirza Md Akber, Sultanur Kabir Chowdhury, Abul Bashar, M A Faruk, Late Mahbubul Haque Chowdhury Nansu (posthumously), Mostak Ahmed Chowdhury, Jahangir Chowdhury, A K M Jahurul Anwar, Md Golam Mohiuddin Babul, Anis Kadri, Md Kamal Uddin, Prof Imam Ali, Engr Ruhul Alam Mia, Mahbubar Rahman, P R Sinha, Dr Md Gofranul Haque, Dr Masud Ahmed, Prof Dr Md Anwar Hossain and Md Nurul Alam Akond.
Chittagong Club President S M Abu Tayyab said the programme was organised to pay respect to the freedom fighters and to share the spirit of the War of Liberation with the young generation.
