Vow to make Manikganj drug-free
Speakers at an anti-drug rally held at Manikganj Government Boys High School playground on Thursday pledged to make Manikganj drug-free.
District police administration organised the programme where community policemen of 10 unions of Manikganj Sadar upazila and Manikganj Municipality, chairmen, commissioner and members of the union parishads under the upazila and municipality took part.
Community policemen have added to the number and strength of the police force and they should make Manikganj a drug free district, Superintendent of Police Imtiaz Ahmed said in his address as chief guest. He also urged people to form unity against drug.
Other speakers also vowed to resist the drug trading in the district and promised to make drug-free Manikganj.
Manikganj Municipality Chairman Sudev Saha, Assistant Police Superintendent (Sadar Circle) Ikbal Pathan, Manikganj Press Club President AFM Nurtaz Alam Bahar were special guests at the programme with Officer-in-Charge of Manikganj Sadar Police Station Yasin Ali in the chair.
Later an anti-drug procession marched streets of the town.
