Ekushey Book Fair: Short tales from Bipasha
Eminent actress and playwright Bipasha Hayat has released a new book of short stories at the Ekushey Book Fair, titled “Ghum Bhanga Manusher Golpo”. It was published by Shobdoshilpo.
There are five stories in the book, three of which were previously published in The Daily Prothom Alo. The already released stories are “Aadi Kombol”, “Nurunnaharer Doito Jibon”, “Shunno Manob”,while the fresh ones are “Ghum Bhanga Manusher Golpo” and “Manush Othoba Kiwi Fol-er Nesha”.
Bipasha published her first compilation of short stories in 1996, under the title “Hridoy Rajje”. Bipasha says she is contemplating writing novels and the short stories are just a preparation for that. She is eager to see how the readers receive her works. Bipasha adds that she usually writes a story first and then gives it the form of a play.
So far over 40 one-hour-dramas by Bipasha have been aired, along with a couple of popular serials.
