Channel 9 -- the country's first 24-hour entertainment TV channel -- is set to join the fleet of media stations frequenting our television sets. The new channel will feature no news, but showcase only entertainment programmes throughout the day.
At a press conference at Hotel Sonargaon, Channel 9 Managing Director Enayetur Rahman Bappi informed that name of the new station was chosen to commemorate and celebrate the ideals that inspired the nation to fight for nine months during the Liberation War.
He added that Channel 9 had already secured the broadcasting rights for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League and a deal with BCB and Game On Sports Management has already been penned.
Round the clock programmes on the channel will feature patriotic songs, one-hour-dramas; tele-films; drama serials; movies; sports programmes; musical shows; game shows; shows on health, business, comedy and family shows. The channel will also feature shows on the country's military and paramilitary forces along with law enforcing agencies.
