Award giving ceremony at National Museum
About 30 children who were winners of a children's art competition were awarded certificates recently at a ceremony held at the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum. The competition was organised by the Bangladesh National Museum as part of the 40th anniversary of Independence.
Prominent artists Qayyum Choudhury and Mustafa Monwar handed over certificates to the winners. The museum's Board of Trustees president M Azizur Rahman and director general of National Museum, Prakash Chandra Das, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Over 300 children from various local schools participated in the competition held at the museum premises on December 23.
The participants revealed their imagi-nation through a variety of paintings, drawings on themes like lifestyle of villagers, city life, village markets, panoramic beauty, vibrant indigenous people and hills.
The Bangladesh National Museum has been organising such competitions since 1991 to mark national days including Independence Day, Victory Day, National Mourning Day and Language Movement Day.
