BSF returns youth's body
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) returned the body of a Bangladeshi youth to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Bhurungamari upazila yesterday.
The deceased, Abdul Latif Labu, 35, son of late Gaziur Rahman of Bhabanipur village in Sharishabari upazila of Jamalpur district, is a painter.
BGB sources said locals found the body at pillar no- 962 of the frontier in the upazila on January 16 and informed Dinhata police of Cooch Behar district.
On information, victim's uncle Bahar Ali identified the body. Later, BSF handed over the body after a company commander-level flag meeting with BGB at Bagbhandar border at around 4:15pm.
Family members said Labu went missing since he visited Kurigram on January 15.
Md Kafil Uddin, officer in-charge of Bhurungamari police station, said criminals might have killed the youth and dumped the body in Indian territory.
