Photo exhibition on Victory Day
A three-day photography exhibition, celebrating the 40th Victory Day, was held at Rangpur Town Hall.
District Muktijoddha Shangshad and BRAC jointly organised the photography exhibition.
A documentary on the Liberation War was also screened at the exhibition.
The exhibition drew a huge turnout, especially youngsters of the district.
Jasimuddin Ahmed, Divisional Commissioner of Rangpur, inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, district Muktijoddha Sangsad unit commander.
Among others, B.M. Enamul Haque, District Commissioner of Rangpur; Kazi Hasan Ahmed, Executive Officer of Rangpur Zila Parishad; Dr. Ekramul Haque Sawpon, President of district JSD unit; Sakhawat Hossain Ranga, General Secretary of district JSD unit; Motiyar Rahman, Deputy Commander of the district Muktijoddha Sangsad unit and freedom fighter Rafiqul Islam Golap were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
At a discussion, Jasimuddin Ahmed said that the real history of the Liberation War has been distorted by the anti-Liberation forces several times over the last 40 years.
Hopefully, exhibitions like this would depict the true history of the war and help the young understand the greatest achievement of Bangladeshis, he added.
