BFF to get Sylhet BKSP today
After more than a year of deliberation, Bangladesh Football Federation is set to get the Sylhet BKSP on a five-year lease agreement to run its proposed football academy there. The BFF president Kazi Salahuddin will sign a formal agreement in this regard with the secretary general of BKSP Brigadier General MM Salehin at the NSC auditorium today.
The Sylhet BKSP, one of its four centres of sporting excellence around the country, is situated over 13 acres of land in Khadimnagar on the outskirts of Sylhet city.
A source inside BFF informed that it will pay monthly fifty thousand taka to BKSP authorities to run the academy at the BKSP which already has two football fields, a tennis court, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a boarding house with 42 rooms.
BFF president, during his visit to the FIFA headquarters earlier this month, received verbal assurance from the FIFA president Sepp Blatter about assistance in setting up a full-fledged football academy and recruitment of coaching staff there. The FIFA boss is expected to formally inaugurate the academy when he visits Bangladesh in April 2012.
