Road crashes kill 6
Six people were killed and at least 20 others injured in separate road accidents in Pabna and Thakurgaon on Wednesday and yesterday.
Our Pabna correspondent reports: Alen Pramanik, 55, of the sadar upazila, was killed and five others were injured as a bus fell into a ditch beside Pabna-Sujanagar road at Kalidah of the upazila around 11:00am yesterday, said police.
In another incident, Moulana Asadullah Al Galib, 50, and Monir Hossain, 25, of Bera upazila, were killed and 15 others injured when a Leguna (three-wheeler passenger vehicle) hit a standing truck on Dhaka-Pabna Highway at Shahidnagar in Santhia upazila around 4:00am yesterday.
A Pabna-bound lorry ran over Md Asadul Islam on Santhia-Pabna road at Uttar Sholabaria around 5:00pm on Wednesday, killing him on the spot.
In another incident, a Nasiman (three-wheeler) skidded off the road at Dadpur of Ishwardi upazila on Wednesday, leading its driver Jasim Uddin Fantu dead on the spot.
Our Thakurgaon correspondent says: A motorcyclist Fazlur Rahaman, 85, son of late Dabiruddin of Baliadangi upazila, was crushed under the wheels of a truck in Thakurgaon Sugar Mills area in the sadar upazila yesterday afternoon.
