Dowry-greedy husband kills wife in Jessore

A housewife was killed allegedly by her husband for dowry in Khorki area of Jessore town yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Shampa khatun, 27, wife of Minto Mia of Mmuragachha village in Harirampur upazila of Jessore district.
Police said Mintu picked up a quarrel with Champa over dowry at around 8:00am and at one stage beat her dead.
Being informed, police reached the spot at a round 9:00am and found the body hanging from the ceiling of the house. They recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Police said the body bore injury marks.
Meanwhile, Detectives (DB) arrested a housewife in Magura town Friday afternoon in the case for killing her husband in December in 2010, reports UNB.
