Tippon remanded again
A Narsingdi court yesterday placed Masudur Rahman Tippon on a fresh four-day remand in connection with the murder of Narsingdi municipality mayor Lokman Hossain.
Chief Judicial Magistrate's court passed the order after Mamunur Rashid Mondol, investigation officer of the case, produced Tippon before it seeking a seven-day remand.
Earlier he was remanded for eight days in the murder case. Police picked up Tippon, a former leader of district Jubo League, on November 13 from a village in Gopalganj.
Law enforcers so far have arrested seven people in connection with the murder. Of them, only one, Ashraf Sarkar, was named in the first information report.
Masked assailants shot Lokman in the district Awami League office in Narsingdi town around 7:30pm on November 1.
Hours later he succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
