SK Jamal in final
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club stormed into the Safal Pokhara Cup Football Tournament final with a comfortable 3-0 win over hosts Pokhara XI at the Pokhara Stadium in Nepal yesterday.
African hitman Kester struck twice while Brazilian midfielder Everton netted one for the Bangladesh League champions, who will play the final against Nepal Army on Saturday.
Sheikh Jamal were forced to play with 10 players after Sharif was sent off in the dying minutes of the first half but the hosts could not capitalize on one man shortage of Sheikh Jamal, who rather struck their third goal in the second half to leave the field with their heads high.
Brazilian Everton made the hosts Pokhara silence on the half hour mark with a stunning 30-yarder as lanky goalkeeper Samit Rajbhandari was not able to read eye catching stunner.
Sheikh Jamal doubled the lead two minutes from the first half as Kester found the ball in a goal mouth melee and smartly placed it into the net but they were soon reduced to 10 men duo to double bookings of Sharif.
After the break, Kester, who looked dangerous throughout the match, sealed the match striking his third goal in the tournament in the 63rd minute after utilising a superb pass from Everton.
The Brazilian dribbled past two Pokhara XI defenders before passing the ball to unmarked, Kester who easily scored to the third to take Sheikh Jamal to the final of the tournament.
