Kanthabithi, the lone recital organisation in Magura recently staged a 'Sruti-Natak' (recital drama) a performance based on "Rather Roshi", a popular play written by Rabindranath Tagore. The event was held at the auditorium of Sayed Ator Ali Public Library in the district town.
The play was staged in observance of Tagore's 150th birth anniversary. This was the 10th show of the production by Kanthabithi.
Scripted and directed by the organising secretary of central Abritti Samonnoy Parishad(ASP) Khan Mazharul Haque, the production attracted a large number of spectators.
“The play based on the class-distinction of the then Hindu community by the people of so-called higher classes is also circumstantially related to the present situation of the society," said Khan Mazharul Haque also the convener of Kanthabithi.
"Considering present day reality and to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Tagore we felt it would be appropriate to stage the production,” Lipu added.
