Eight injured as rival villagers clash in Sylhet
At least eight people were injured in an attack by a rival group at Goshgao village in Golapganj upazila on Friday.
Locals said there was a longstanding enmity between Moura Mia and Taz Uddin over establishing supremacy in the village.
They said supporters of Taz Uddin ransacked the house of Moura Mia and looted valuables on Tuesday night. Later, Moura filed a case with the police.
When police was coming to the village to investigate the matter on
Friday afternoon the supporters of Taz Uddin led by union parishad member Nurul Islam launched another attack on the house of Moura Mia, leaving Moura Mia and seven people injured.
Of the injured Moura Mia, 50, Nur Uddin, 60, Enam Uddin, 35, Hauarun Nessa, 60, pregnant housewife Momta Begum, 38, were rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
