One killed, 3 hurt in cylinder blast

An engineer was killed and three workers were injured as a gas cylinder exploded at an ice factory in the town early yesterday.
Deceased Gazi Julfikar Ali, 34, son of Gazi Shahar Ali was a mechanical engineer of Madhumita Ice Factory in KB Bazar area and resident of Lichutola of the town.
Robin Dham, owner of the factory, said the engineer and three workers were injured when Julfikar was trying to seal a gas leakage in the cylinder and it exploded around 6:00am.
The injured were taken to Khulna Medical College and Hospital and later Julfikar and two workers--Lablu, 33, and Bikash, 22-- were shifted to Dhaka. Julfikar died on the way to Dhaka around 11:00am, Robin added.
