18 injured as BCL, JCD lock in clashes in Thakurgaon
At least 18 activists of both Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Jatyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) were injured in clashes at Ruhia Bazar under Thakurgaon Sadar upazila yesterday afternoon.
Of the injured, JCD activists Masud Pervez,30, Milon,27, Abul Kalam,28, and Ahasan,27, were admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital while other four belonging to BCL-Sazzad,22, Shohag,24, Sajal,18, and Sumon,18, were rushed to Atwary Health Complex.
Rest of the injured were treated at local clinics.
Police and locals said, BCL and JCD activists engaged in a clash over inducting new activists into their respective parties at Ruhia Degree College at 2:00pm.
Later the activists of both parties engaged in another clash at Ruhia Bazar as a sequel to the previous incident leaving 18 people injured.
