Galaxies to dissolve in 1,020 years
In around 1,020 years, either most stars will evaporate or galaxies will collapse into a black hole or dissolve completely, said renowned scientist Prof Dr Jamal Nazrul Islam yesterday.
“Although we do not have enough knowledge to make a definite prediction about the fate of the universe, scientists predicted these three ultimate states for the universe so far through their research,” he said.
Prof Jamal was delivering the keynote address at a seminar titled “The Fate of the Universe” at Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), Chittagong campus.
IUB Science and Engineering Club organised the seminar marking World Space Week. The club President Atiqur Rahman and IUB teachers Swomitra Palit and Amran Haroon were also present.
