Tribute to Tareque, Mishuk
Noted filmmaker Tareque Masud and media personality Ashfaque Munier Mishuk always aimed to inspire the young generation, said poet and journalist Abul Momen at a commemorative meeting here in Chittagong city yesterday.
“They were devoted to their work, the people, society and humanity. They always tried to pass on their experience and creativeness to the young generation through their work and activities to inspire them into knowing the country's struggle of liberation, heritage and history,” he said.
The meeting was organised to pay homage to the two departed souls of the country's notable talents, Tareque and Mishuk, at the gallery of Theatre Institute in Chittagong city. Ajantrik, an organisation working on text, sound and film images, organised the event.
Speaking as the chief guest, Abul Momen said fame alienates men from the masses but Tareque and Mishuk did not have that type of personality.
Terming the deaths as a great loss to the nation, he said every developed country safeguards its creative personalities but it is the nation's misfortune that it lost two of its most valuable lives.
