Road crashes kill 2
Two people, including a minor girl, were killed in separate road accidents in Narayanganj and Satkhira yesterday.
Our Narayanganj correspondent reports: A readymade garment worker was killed and four others were injured as a tempo turned upside down on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Kanchpur in Sonargaon upazila yesterday.
The deceased is Md Mohsin, 30, a worker of SS Garment in the area. The injured were given first aid.
Protesting the accident, workers of the garment blocked the highway for half an hour and set fire to the tempo.
Transport movement on the highway became normal around 10:00am after police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Our Satkhira correspondent says: A seven-year-old girl was killed on the spot when an engine-run van hit a hired motorbike while the girl and her mother were coming from Dumuria by the motorbike on Satkhira-Khulna road at village Madanpur in Tala upazila yesterday.
The deceased is Sonamoni, daughter of Kala Chand Mia, of village Bag Gram of Debhata upazila.
