Journalist, his brother stabbed in Laxmipur
An elderly journalist and his brother were injured in an attack by a gang in front of Sadar Hospital in the town early yesterday.
The injured were identified as senior journalist and founder general secretary of Laxmipur press club M A Malek, 60, and his brother Dr Zakir Hossain, 55, district president of BMA.
Police said Malek and his brother while returning to their residence at Shamsherabad by a rickshaw at about 1:00am a gang of 5-6 criminals waylaid them near Sadar Hospital main gate.
Later, the hoodlums beat and stabbed them indiscriminately leaving them critically injured.
Local people, hearing the hue and cry, rushed to the spot and took them to Sadar Hospital.
