15 hurt in Manikganj factory fire

At least 15 workers were injured as a fire broke out at a hardboard factory at Tora in Ghior upazila yesterday evening.
The fire originated at the oil line of a dryer of Akij Particle and Hardboard Mills Ltd around 7:30pm due to excessive heat in the dust of the dryer, said manager of the plant Jamal Uddin.
Two fire-fighting units from Manikganj and Ghior put out the blaze around 9:00pm.
The identities of the 15 injured could not be confirmed immediately.
Three of them were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated while the rest were admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
