Schoolboy slaughtered in Meherpur
Criminals have slaughtered a schoolboy in Gangni upazila of Meherpur.
Police recovered the body of nine-year-old Iran, son of late Emdadul Haq, from a field at Dhala village of the upazila yesterday.
Police suspected that local criminals killed Iran over previous enmity.
According to police, Iran went missing since he went to play in a nearby field on Thursday afternoon.
Locals found the body of Iran at a jute field and informed the police yesterday morning.
The same gang slaughtered Emdadul, an elected member of Dhola Union Parishad, along with his two brothers near his residence during the month of Ramadan in 2008, police said.
Police and family sources said Iran's father Emdadulhad a longstanding feud with local criminal gang Dukhu Bahini.
