Bappa Mazumder delves into Rabindra Sangeet
For the first time, Bappa Mazumder is recording Rabindra Sangeet that will be featured on his upcoming album. He also revealed that the album will have a song on motherhood. Bappa's mother, classical singer Ila Majumdar, passed away on May 3 this year. The album titled, “Bechey Thak Sabuj”, will be dedicated to her memory.
Ten songs on the album will be about love, patriotism, nature and contemporary issues. The title track, written by Shankar Shawjal, is based on Raga Desh. Other songs on the album have been written by Zulfikar Russel, Rasel Onil, Shahan Kabandha, Masum Rana, Indran, Swapnil, Wahid Rajib and Joy Shahriar.
Bappa says that the album will be substantially different from of its predecessors. “I have tried to break away from my usual style,” he says.
The album will be released after the upcoming Eid.
