The holy month is here
It is really unfortunate that a section of traders/retailers unjustly raises price of essential commodities during the holy month of Ramadan. Every year authority takes special drives/campaign to keep price hiking under control so that Muslims can peacefully and comfortably observe fasting in the month of Ramadan.
Even in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is considered as a strong Muslim country with full application of Islamic laws and values, hiking prices during the month of Ramadan has become a normal practice!
My question is, aren't those retailers and traders Muslim? Don't they fast and perform all the rituals relating to Ramadan? In Islam, the holy month of Ramadan is said to be a month of attaining self-purity and perfection. Then how being Muslims and observers of Ramadan could they commit such a sin by raising the prices of essentials and creating artificial scarcity of certain commodities during the month of Ramadan?
Would our Muslim brother please peep into their inner mirror and review their actions in the light of Islamic teaching and ideals?May Allah establish us in the true and right path. Happy Ramadan.
