Trader killed in city
Criminals stabbed a trader to death at Kotowali in the city last night.
The deceased was identified as Rajab Ali, 24, a scrap iron trader of Dholaikhal area.
Victim's friend Mohammad Rubel told journalists, Rajab went to a mobile phone's balance recharge shop at Rayessor Bazar road around 8:00pm.
A gang of criminals numbering 10 to12 stabbed Rajab indiscriminately and beat up Rubel as he tried to rescue him (Rajab).
Rubel with the help of locals rushed the victim to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared him dead around 8:40pm, DMCH sources said.
Officer-in-Charge of Kotowali Police Station Mohammad Salahuddin Khan said Rajab might have been killed over previous enmity over scrap iron business. His elder brother was also killed over the issue around six years back.
