Jatiya Party (JP) and Workers Party of Bangladesh yesterday hailed the speech of chief adviser (CA) to the nation while Jatiya Mukti Council criticised the speech.
Workers Party however urged the government for full withdrawal of the emergency rules and lifting ban on indoor politics all over the country.
Jatiya Mukti Council President Badruddin Umar and Secretary Faizul Hakim rejected CA's speech saying that it is nothing but a joke when people are not getting their fundamental rights for one year.
In a joint statement Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon and General Secretary Bimal Biswas said government initiative to hold dialogue with the political parties would bring positive impact.
They also said that it is not enough to give promise of holding the election. Government has to declare specific date of holding election and to return power to the elected representatives.
JP Secretary General Sheikh Shahidul Islam in a statement welcomed CA's speech saying that his speech would dispel confusion from mind of the people regarding the next general election.
He however said that CA did not address specifically on controlling price hike and inflation.
He also said people could be assured if the speech could have contained directions regarding trial of war criminals.
