Digital services to stimulate growth
Speakers at a workshop yesterday observed that the digitisation of both public and private services would lead the country to achieve double-figure growth in the next few years.
They said digital services like Union Information Service Centres (UISCs), e-governance, e-tender, e-info cell, and e-banking would ensure transparent, efficient, and corruption-free services at people's doorsteps.
Khulna Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khaleque was the chief guest at the workshop on A2I (access to information) organised for media professionals in Khulna division at Khulna Circuit House conference room.
The mayor said there is no option other than implementing the vision for digital Bangladesh to make the country prosperous by 2021.
M Nazrul Islam Khan, prime minister's personal secretary-1 and the national project director of A2I Programme of Prime Minister's Office (PMO), presented the keynote paper and addressed the inaugural session as a special guest.
About 30 print and electronic journalists participated in the workshop moderated by M Rahmat Ali, consultant of BSS-A2I Media Campaign for Promoting Digital Bangladesh.
Ajit Kumar Sarkar, city editor of BSS and focal point of BSS-A2I Media Campaign, also addressed the inaugural session with BSS Managing Editor and Chief Editor Ihsanul Karim in the chair.
