A ten-year-old boy drowned in Barnoy River at Bashvag village of Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased is identified as Monirul Islam, son of Razu Ahmad of Bashvag village of the same upazila.
Witnesses said Monirul was missing after he along with his three friends went to take bath in Barnoy River.
Fire fighting unit from Rajshahi rushed to the spot but they failed to recover the body till yesterday evening.
