DUEDAA essay contest held
Nine people were awarded Saturday at the prize-giving ceremony of the first-ever national essay competition of Dhaka University Economic Department Alumni Association (DUEDAA).
The ceremony of the competition titled “Economic Future of Bangladesh: Next Ten Years” was held at RC Majumdar Hall of Dhaka University.
DUEDAA President Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman and General Secretary Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed distributed the prizes and certificates among participants.
Ashfaqul Huq Chowdhury of IBA, Dhaka University and Md Samimul Islam of Management Department, Chapainawabganj Government College jointly won the first prize of Tk 1 lakh.
Students of Dhaka University, Chittagong University, Khulna University, North South University, Dhaka College and Abdur Rob Serniabat Textile College, Barisal also got prizes.
Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, former governor of Bangladesh Bank; Golam Rahman, chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission; Prof Momtazuddin Ahmed; Prof Mahbubullah; Moklesur Rahman, land secretary; Zahiduzzaman Faruque and Firdaus Ali also spoke.
