Vitamin 'A' plus campaign May 29

The national vitamin 'A' plus campaign will be observed across the country on May 29.
On the day, all the children aged between 1-5 years will be given one high-powered red coloured vitamin A capsule and all other children aged between 2-5 years to be provided with one anti-worm (Elbendazol) tablet.
Besides, all the children aged between six months to and 11 months in Gopalganj, Satkhira, Comilla, Moulvibazar and Barisal districts and Rajshahi and Barisal city corporation areas will be fed with one high powered blue coloured vitamin A capsule on an experimental basis this year.
A programme to feed all the children, aged between 2-5 years, with anti-worm tablet two times in a year was taken up since 2003 to reduce malnutrition related different problems, child mortality and child diseases.
Recent research shows that it has been possible to reduce the mortality and child diseases by 13 percent only through feeding anti-worm tablet two times in a year, says a PID handout.
