'Work to build hunger-free country'
Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad yesterday said all should work unitedly to build up a hunger-free country based on information technology.
Inaugurating an information centre on Dhaka University campus as the chief guest, he said the government has already set up information centres at 4,500 unions across the country by which farmers of the country are getting benefit.
The one-room information centre is situated at the administrative building of the university.
He said the information centre will contribute a lot in making the young generation rich with information and knowledge.
Speaking as the chair of the inaugural programme Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique said the centre will help the government make the Right to Information Act effective. All kinds of information excepting some secret information like exam question papers will be provided from the information centre, Prof Arefin said.
