25 shops gutted, 2 hurt

Two people received burn injuries and 25 shops were brunt to ashes in a devastating fire at Somotaghat in the town on Wednesday.
The fire first originated from an oven in a restaurant at about 5:30pm and soon engulfed the corrugated iron sheet made and semi-pacca shops.
Suvas Chakma and Avishek Dewan were burnt in the fire. They were admitted to Rangamati Sadar hospital.
Fire fighters were rushed to the spot and doused the flame after one and half hour long frantic efforts.
Valuables worth Tk 1 crore were gutted in the fire, said fire brigade sources.
The Somotaghat Market has been burnt for four times so far, said Samoresh Dewan, owner of the market.
