MoU with Saudi agency tomorrow
Saudi Arabia is looking for workers from Bangladesh and a Saudi delegation already arrived here in Dhaka to discuss the recruitment process.
The delegation from Sonarcom, the recruiting association of Saudi Arabia, met with officials of Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (Baira) at its office in the city yesterday.
Baira President Abul Bashar over phone said, “They want to recruit Bangladeshis in four categories -- driver, guard, gardener and housemaid.
“A memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard will be signed tomorrow.”
Bashar said the recruitment process might begin within one and a half months after the MoU signing. He could not tell the exact figure to be recruited but said the number would be substantial.
The delegation will hold a meeting with Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain today.
Two million Bangladeshi workers are currently employed in Saudi Arabia, the largest manpower export destination of Bangladesh.
