Case against Mosharraf discharged

A Dhaka court yesterday discharged Awami League leader and former housing and public works minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain in connection with a graft case filed against him in August 2002.
Judge Mohammad Abdul Mazid of the Special Court for Dhaka Division passed the order as it did not find any elements to frame charge against him.
In his order, the judge said the High Court had earlier quashed the trial proceedings of the case against former forest and environment minister and now Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury. So, Mosharraf was discharged from the corruption charges, the judge said.
