A member of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) Lal Pataka faction was hacked and shot dead by criminals at Shibpur Charpara village under Ataikula police station early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Akbar Hossain alias Akubbar, 30, son of Abdul Wahab of village Shibpur in Atikula.
A gang of criminals picked up Akubbar from his Shibpur residence on Monday night, police said quoting the family members. Later, they hacked and shot him at nearby Charpara of the village.
Officer-in-Charge of Atikula police station Md. Habibur Rahman said Akubbar might have been killed due to internal feud of the outlawed party.
Earlier an outlawed operative of PBCP Janajudhha faction, Sujon alias Loba 30, was hacked to death at border village Shatgasa on Sunday. The party rivals might have killed him over past enmity, OC of Chatmohar PS said.
Party rivals also hacked Abdul Aziz, 30, another operative of outlawed PBCP Janajudhha faction at Balughata village in Faridpur upazila on January 2.
